Abstract
The purpose of this research was to examine the challenges and solutions in the development of health tourism in Iran, emphasizing the technological capabilities of the Internet of Things. The research was applied in terms of purpose and qualitative based on the type of data. This research was conducted using the qualitative method of phenomenology. The statistical population of the research includes all the experts familiar with the field of health tourism as well as the field of information and communication technology, on the basis of which 22 people were selected according to theoretical saturation and with the purposeful (theoretical) sampling method. The main tool of data collection was semi-structured interview. The data were analyzed using the Colisei method and according to the ground theory method, open, central and selective codings were done. The results indicate that 102 semantic codes were obtained, which were included in 10 core codes. According to the results, four types of challenges related to health tourism based on Internet of Things technology, i.e. the challenge of skills, facilities and facilities, the extent of communication and the field of advertising, were presented. Finally, solutions including three selected codes of facilities and equipment, management dimension and standards, criteria and laws were proposed to strengthen each of the indicators of the introduced model for the development of health tourism in Iran from the elite's point of view.
