Abstract
This study was conducted with the aim of systematically and bibliometrically analyzing international research on interventions, treatments, and support programs for adoptive parents. Data were collected from the Scopus database up to January 2025 using keywords such as “adoption,” “adoptive parents,” “intervention,” and “support.” Data analysis with VOSviewer identified three main clusters: (1) alternative care and child-related issues, (2) clinical interventions and parent–child relationships, and (3) child psychology and behavior. Findings indicated that educational interventions, particularly psychoeducational programs, play a key role in supporting adoptive parents; however, a clear lack of culturally sensitive and locally adapted programs was observed. Accordingly, this study suggests that future research should focus on developing interventions tailored to diverse cultural contexts and on the transnational dimensions of adoption. The results of this analysis can serve as a foundation for designing effective, evidence-based programs to support adoptive families.
