ارزیابی انتقادی مدل‌های درک عمومی از علم استفاده از تمرین برای آگاهی از نظریه‌ها

چکیده

موضوعات پیچیده علمی بخش جدایی‌ناپذیر از جوامع مدرن است و به طور مستمر در حوزه عمومی مورد بحث قرار می‌گیرد. متعاقبا، درک اساسی از این مسائل پیچیده باید برای همه افراد امکان‌پذیر باشد. در جوامع دموکراتیک، درک عمومی از علم در فرایندهای صحیح سیاستگذاری در موضوعات علمی مورد مناقشه، مهم است.
با درک اهمیت ابعاد اخلاقی ، حقوقی و اجتماعی تحولات جدید علمی، ایالت‌های مختلف آمریکا طی ۲۰ سال گذشته فعالیت‌های اطلاع‌رسانی و درک عمومی از علم را به عنوان یکی از اجزای الزامی پروژه‌های بودجه فدرال درنظر گرفته‌اند. فرض اساسی در پشت این پروژه‌های ارتباطی این است که دسترسی بیشتر به اطلاعات منجر به دانش بیشتر در مورد مسائل اخلاقی، حقوقی و اجتماعی می‌شود، که به نوبه خود منجر به افزایش توانایی افراد و جوامع در برخورد با این موارد می‌شود.
در این مقاله از رویکرد مطالعه موردی به عنوان مبنایی برای ارزیابی مدل‌های نظری توسعه علم استفاده شده تا میزان ارتباط این مدل‌ها با فعالیت‌های جهان واقعی را دریابیم.
