Review of historical monuments such as ancestral handicrafts, the investigation into the life of physicians, astronomers, agriculturists, architects, physicists and mathematics and so on, attest to the development of knowledge in the ancient Iran. Such knowledge can be observed in the ancient and authentic Iranian art namely Iranian carpet. Such textures which have developed Iran’s academic standing by integrating principles of art with mathematics in order to promote Iranian standing in both art and mathematics. Therefore, we decided to elaborate the role of our ancient culture which had a pre-eminent position in mathematics, in the area of science. So one of the effects of mathematics, art and culture was chosen to smooth the way for teaching mathematics to students by weave the mathematics into it. This delicacy can develop the promotion and popularization of mathematics as the overall aims of education. This view can help students to see mathematics as a different form of knowledge which will be oppose to common view in society which consider math as difficult and complicated knowledge. The results of several research show that the ways which our ancestors used math in their daily life activities are very interesting and even unique despite of having no formal academic education. So, in addition to creating interest and motivation in students, introducing such activities can have a significant impact on teaching and learning process.

Several information resources have developed various definitions of “social media”. The common definition describes social media as a group of web-based and mobile applications of web 2.0 that allow users to share and create knowledge in a real time social interaction. It is user-centric, multi-purpose and it is not time and location bound. According to the previous research, although the librarians have positive attitude towards using social media in libraries, in practice they may experience a lot of challenges. These challenges may concern human resources, Time, management and etc. Using Library research method, firstly, this paper attempts to provide a general definition of social media. Then it addresses some of existing challenges in the use of social media in libraries and information centers from various perspectives. At last the paper suggests some approaches to improve librarians’ motivation, codify a usage guideline and encourage scholars to perform more researches in this area in order to deal with mentioned challenges

Textbooks help learning through texts, images and other features. Selecting and placing images in the proper place can facilitate learning. This article deals with the importance of images to teach textbooks, as well as its role in foreign language teaching. Images have three functions: 1) To encourage the reader to study the text, 2) To provide supplementary information about the text, 3) To help the reader's imaginary potential. In the selection of images, the motivation of learners, standards, quality of images, style and aesthetic values should not be neglected. Arrangement of images is very important too, because human visual system tends to see one object in foreground and another in background. Color is important in images too, because each color has its own special wavelength and influence. Images are applied in the elementary school Persian language study textbooks too. In spite of Bachlard and Tardy who are against image application and consider images an obstacle against learning, we see that many foreign language methods emphasis on conversation and images.

In July 2016, due to its whimsical and majestic topography, UNESCO inscribed the Lut Desert on its World Heritage List. The wonderful scenery of the Lut has always fascinated the eco-tourists. However, there is little information available on its unusual ecosystem. In December 2016, the Science Journal in a report by Richard Stone attempted to decipher this mystery. Until now, it has been assumed that without plants as the first link in every food chain and the primary producers, the stability of food web will be disrupted. So how can the existence of living organisms including insects, reptiles and desert foxes be explained? In November 2016, a team of Iranian, American and European researchers traveled into the Lut to find an answer to this dilemma. Their findings were quite unexpected
